Queensland can afford to share our state's prosperity.
Here's what our campaign has helped achieve so far.
BILL AND FOOD RELIEF
MQF campaign partners provide frontline food and bill relief. They see firsthand the impact of rising prices on Queenslanders who are now struggling to afford basics like food, rent, electricity and petrol. That’s why Make Queensland Fair has campaigned for:
☑ $1000 Energy Bill rebate
☑ 50c Public Transport trips
☑ Cheaper car registration
☑ $15 Million
School and Community Food Relief Program, including taskforce
☑ Extra $3.3 Million
For OzHarvest & SecondBite, $2.9m Foodbank QLD
☑ Extra $1.7 Million
For emergency relief, including in discrete First Nations communities
☑ Extra $1.2 Million
For Meals on Wheels Queensland
HOUSING
Every campaign partner has seen how a lack of accommodation and rising rents are impacting Queenslanders. Queensland’s housing crisis is destabilising communities across the state. That’s why the Make Queensland Fair has been campaigning so hard for:
☑ 53,500 Social Homes
☑ 1,000,000 Homes by 2046
☑ Agreed 22-year housing plan
☑ $5.8 Million
Towards safer housing for First Nations Families.
SUPPORT FOR SERVICES
Queensland’s community service sector is there for Queenslanders when they need it the most. Right now, our sector is facing unprecedented demand, but low wages and unstable conditions in our predominantly female sector are making it increasingly difficult to attract and retain staff. Make Queensland Fair is fighting to change this. We’ve won:
☑ Improved contract provisions
Default, 5-year service agreement terms
Six months’ notice in writing of a contract’s end with wind-down periods
Guaranteed 3-month notice of any renewed contract
Pursuing possibility of multiple contracts managed by one lead agency
☑ Increased funding for Services
Including Specialist Homelessness Services.
SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES AND CHILDREN
Our
campaign partners, understand how well supported families and early years help
for children can positively impact the trajectory of a life. That’s why we’ve
been campaigning for:
☑ Putting Queensland Kids First $500M Package including
extended free kindy
enhanced child health development checks and
$20m for family and early years school-based hubs in Aurukun and Kowanyama
There’s still so much to be done, and we need your support. Sign up for campaign updates and add your voice to our calls for real cost-of-living relief.
